Breastfeeding
For mom
* Nursing bras (2 to 3): Better get them once milk comes in, to be sure to get the right size. H&M / M&S
* Nipple cream*: Lanolin based creams and balms can help to relieve sore nipples. Boots / Wells
* Breast pads*: To prevent leakage. Disposable (Boots / Wells) or reusable ones (Amazon / Amazon / Boots / Wells).
* Silver shields: For more extreme healing. Amazon / Amazon / BellaBaby
* Warm or cold gel packs*: To soothe swollen or sore breasts. When you need to take breast milk or formula to-go, tuck the cold packs into an insulated bag.
* Breast pump*: To help pump breast milk to feed baby or relieve engorgement. Manual* or electric dual pump
* Breast milk freezing bags*: Pump milk straight into a bottle, or use specially made plastic storage bags, which don't take up much space in the freezer and can be defrosted easily. The number of bags you'll need depends on how often you plan to pump, start with one box and buy as needed. Boots / Wells / Amazon
* Multipurpose nursing cover: A cover slips easily over you and your baby for privacy, doubling as an infant car seat or shopping trolley cover. PatPat (Dark grey pattern)
Extras for baby
* Burp cloths (6 to 12): Lightweight cloths (or cloth diapers) catch spit-up and wipe up other baby fluids. Amazon / Amazon /
* Bibs (8 to 10): Even before baby is eating solids, it's handy to have a little bib to keep his clothes dry, especially if he's a drooler or spitter. H&M / Liewood / PatPat

Bottle-feeding
Must-haves
* Bottles (6 to 12): Newborns usually start with the 4-ounce size, but you'll need some 8-ounce bottles as your child begins to drink more. You'll also need at least as many nipples as bottles. Lots of options:
Comotomo bottles are made of soft, squishy silicone with wide mouth, which makes them easy to clean and fill. And because of their shape and softness, they may be more appealing to breastfed babies.

TIP: Never buy too many of the same brand, because the baby will ultimately decide what he likes best.
* Bottle cleaner + brushes (2): These are handy for thoroughly scrubbing small parts and crevices in bottles, bottle parts, and nipples. Amazon / Amazon
Optional
* Formula(??): In the event of not being able to breastfeed, there are lots of infant formula options to choose from. Stock up with enough formula for a few weeks. - As needed
* Bottle-drying rack: A rack is handy for drying bottles as well as nipples, pacifiers, teethers, and sippy cups.
* Dishwasher basket: These are handy for keeping track of small items (like bottle parts) in the dishwasher.
* Bottle sterilizer: Bottles (and other supplies) can be soaked in boiling water to be disinfected, but some parents find a sterilizer – which uses steam to disinfect – handy. Amazon
* Bottle warmer: A bottle warmer is convenient. (Never heat bottles in the microwave!!) Amazon
* Insulated bottle carrier: Insulated carriers for one bottle or for half a dozen bottles. Use one to keep bottles and/or breast milk warm or cool when you're on the go. Medela / Ardo at Amazon (Single or double ones often included in the diaper bag)
